The Village of Chepachet

 

The Village of Chepachet is located approximately 5.5 miles from Camp Russell, traveling west on Route 44 (Putnam Pike). Chepachet is home to local gems, such as The Town Trader Antique Shop; Brown & Hopkins Country Store, the nation's oldest continuously operating general store; and many historical points of interest. It is the home of the annual 4th of July Ancients and Horribles Parade. Chepachet hosts a myriad of thriving businesses, including seasonal shops, antique shops, etc. 

The Village of Harmony

 

The Village of Harmony sprawls along Route 44 (Putnam Pike) to the west of Camp Russell and features many restaurants, quaint shops, and businesses. 

The Crossing at Smithfield

 

The Crossing at Smithfield (Smithfield Commons, 371 Putnam Pike, Smithfield) is located 3 miles from Camp Russell, traveling east on Route 44 (Putnam Pike) and includes such stores as Target, American Eagle, Old Navy, Dave's Market, Michael's Arts and Crafts, Yankee Candle, and many more. 

 

Restaurants include Chili's, Uno, Chipotle Mexican Grill, and Panera Bread.

Apple Picking, Farm Stands, and Hayrides

 

Visit local favorites such as Steere Orchard and Jaswell Farm in Greenville, Rhode Island, for apple picking, pumpkin picking and hayrides; and Harmony Hill Farm for farm-fresh vegetables and baked goods.
